What is Auto DJ and how do I use it
Auto DJ allows you to upload your audio files and allow the Auto DJ system to play them just like a live stream.
This allows for a 24-7 stream to be always playing content even when you can’t be live.
How do I upload content?
There are 2 ways to upload your media files to the Auto DJ system.
The 1st way is via the control panel
Once logged in and Auto DJ is enabled, on the left had navigation panel click Files.
This will show your uploaded content if any. To upload click the Upload button at the bottom of the page. This will show up the upload box, simply click Select files choose the files you wish to upload and the process will begin.
The 2nd way is via FTP Software
There are a vast range of free and paid for FTP (File Transfer Protocol) software packages online. We recommend Smart FTP.
To upload with FTP software you will need to enter the connection information which is available in your control panel under Quick Links>> FTP Client Connections and in your welcome Email.
The information you need to enter into your FTP software are as follows:
Username Your Control Panel Username
Password Your Control Panel Administrator Password
Port This is normally 21 or 2121. Please consult your welcome email.
Adding Media to a Playlist
Once you have uploaded your files you need to add them to a playlist in order for them to stream
To add your media to a playlist for broadcasting:
- In the navigation panel at the left-hand side of the screen, click Media under the AutoDJ heading. The Media Library interface should appear, and you should see the artists of the tracks you uploaded in the center pane.
- Click on one of your artists and, while still holding down the mouse button, drag it into the Standard Rotation playlist on the left-hand side of the page. This will add all tracks by the selected artist to the playlist.
- If you prefer to add individual tracks instead of entire artists, you may optionally click on the artist, then click on one of the artist's albums, and then drag the individual tracks into the Standard Rotation playlist instead.
- Repeat step 2 and/or 3 for each of your artists, albums, and/or tracks. Note that you can also hold the Ctrl key while clicking the artists, albums, or tracks to select more than one at once, and then drag them all at the same time.
When you have finished adding media to the playlist, click the Return button at the bottom of the page.
Note that when adding media to a playlist, the changes are saved automatically and instantly as soon as you drop the tracks into the playlist, so no further saving is necessary.
Now your files have been added to a playlist you can start your server and the files will begin to play.
